Scene+ officially launched today at Empire stores in Quebec, New Brunswick & Thrifty Foods in B.C.
The final stage for Scene+ Grocery took place today! The Scene+ program officially launched in Quebec, New Brunswick and at Thrifty Stores in British Columbia marking a near year long culmination of the Empire Company Ltd. stores moving from AIR MILES. Next up we have Home Hardware joining Scene+ in the coming months and while it is pure speculation, could we possibly see Shell jump ship from AIR MILES to Scene+?
Yes, Shell had re-signed with AIR MILES in fall of 2022 however recently Scene+ added Shell gift cards to their rewards section (HT to the posters on RFD). What is different about the Shell Gift Card option over other non-Scene+ partner gift cards is that they are priced the same as the partner gift cards. That is, you can redeem 1,000 points for a $10 Shell Gift Card whereas non-partner gift cards tend to be 1,400 for $10….. so is this a sign of things to come? Or, is this just Scene+ taking a jab at AIR MILES by offering the gift cards at this better redemption rate? Let us know what you think!
