Up to 70,000 bonus points + first year free on two National Bank of Canada Mastercards

National Bank of Canada has released limited time increased welcome bonuses two of their premium cards. The NBC World Elite Mastercard is now available with an offer of up to 70,000 points and your first year free. The NBC Platinum Card sees an offer of up to 35,000 points and also provides the first year free.

With National Bank’s A la carte rewards 70,000 points are worth up to $700 towards travel while 35,000 are worth up to $350. The first year annual fee savings ranges from $89 to $150 depending on which card you get.  On top of this, if you get the World Elite Mastercard you can enjoy a refund of up to $150 per year on seat selection, airport parking and baggage fees.

Earn up to 70,000 bonus points when you apply for and are approved for the National Bank of Canada World Elite Mastercard. Plus pay no annual fee in the first year on the primary card. Apply by Jan 13, 23

Welcome bonus awarded as follows:

  • 30,000 points when you spend $5,000 on the card within the first three months of having it

Wrapping it up

Here we have some of the biggest offers to date on these cards but I think some applicants may choose to earn 10,000 points less than the maximum. That’s because of the 10,000 bonus points for taking out the credit card insurance. Credit card insurance is really just a money making machine for banks and we at Rewards Canada avoid it at all costs. That being said, you only have to carry the insurance for three months, so chances are the insurance should cost a lot less than the $100 in value from the points. Just don’t forget to cancel the insurance after three full months!
