American Express has brought out the best offers for this year on the American Express® Aeroplan®* Reserve Card and the American Express® Aeroplan®* Business Reserve Card for the summer of 2025! In this post we’ll look at the offer for business card which offers up to 140,000 bonus Aeroplan points.
The Amex Aeroplan Reserve Cards are cards targeted towards Canadian consumers who love to travel with Air Canada and want to avail of benefits that can make that travel better. From providing the airport lounge access including Maple Leaf Lounges in North America to Priority Boarding and the ability to earn an annual companion pass, these cards were developed with the Air Canada traveller in mind. That being said you don’t have to be a frequent Air Canada traveller to have either of these cards – if you do fly Air Canada even just several times per year the card could make sense for earning Aeroplan points and taking advantage of the travel benefits for those flights.
The up to 140,000 Aeroplan Points welcome bonus offer
Until August 18, 2025 new American Express® Aeroplan®* Business Reserve Cardmembers can earn up to 140,000 welcome bonus points as follows:
- Earn 65,000 Aeroplan points after spending $10,500 in purchases on your Card within the first 3 months.
- Earn an additional 45,000 points after you spend a total of $75,000 on your Card in your first 12 months of Cardmembership.
- Plus, earn 30,000 points when you make a purchase between 15 and 17 months of Cardmembership.
Rewards Canada values Aeroplan points at 1.5 cents each but it is pretty easy with the Aeroplan program to extract more value per point than that. With the minimum 1.5 cent valuation this 140,000 point bonus is worth $2,100. Bottom line net value is $902 after subtracting the $599 annual fee twice as the entire bonus requires holding onto to the card for the second year.
This offer is now the number fourth best small business card welcome bonus in Canada in terms of that bottom line value – and that doesn’t even include all the extra benefits this card provides like Maple Leaf lounge access, first checked bag free and more!
The big caveat to this offer is the requirement to spend $75,000 in the first year on the card to get the entire bonus! That’s a lot of money to spend that could effectively be used to garner several welcome bonus offers. On the other hand, for some business and consumers spending $75K is a drop in the bucket so why not do so for the additional 45,000 points.
Consider this card even if you can’t spend $75,000
This card should be considered even if you don’t think you can have $75,000 in spending in the first year. If $75,000 in spending over a year is a stretch for you don’t let that stop you from getting the card as you can easily get 95,000 Aeroplan points which is 5,000 more points than the standard offer on this card and still represents some big time value! (65,000 for $10,500 spend + 30,000 for one purchase in months 15-17)

Wrapping it up
There is a new offer available on the American Express® Aeroplan®* Business Reserve Card and yes it takes a lot of spend to receive the entire bonus! To the best of my knowledge this the second or third highest spend requirement we’ve ever seen on a publicly available card. The highest so far being $100K we saw (or still see?) on the BMO Eclipse Visa Infinite Privilege Card. All that being said, nothing says you have to complete the $75K in spending as the initial welcome bonus for $10,500 in spending and the second year bonus are worthwhile on their own.
