Top 5 Small Business Credit Card Sign Up offers for January – These cards provide the best value out of their welcome bonuses

Here are the Rewards Canada Top 5 Small Business Credit Card Sign Up
offers
for this month! This is not a ‘best’ credit card
list like our Top Travel Rewards Credit Card rankings
but instead a look at cards for small businesses that have very good
acquisition (welcome/sign up) offers. As always when choosing a card
you should always take other factors into account other than the
just sign
up bonus, but when some of these cards are first year free, they
can and
do pay off even when you grab them strictly for the sign up rewards.
This month we see three first year free cards on the list! And remember
this list is based on minimum value towards travel which we calculate as
the minimum value of the welcome bonus less the annual fee. It is
entirely possible to receive more value out of the welcome bonuses on
all of these cards since they earn Aeroplan points or Marriott Bonvoy
points – both of which can provide some huge outsized value rewards!

Here are our top 5 small business credit card sign up offers for January:

CIBC® Aeroplan® Visa* Business Card
Minimum value: $1,200

CIBC’s
equivalent of the above TD card has a new offer this month that provides up to 60,000 Aeroplan points, a
Buddy Pass and an annual fee
rebate. All told the
points and buddy pass are worth no less than $1,200 in our minds and in
reality should be worth much more than that.

CIBC® Aeroplan® Visa* Business Plus Card
Minimum value: $1,200

The
lower fee version of CIBC’s Business Aeroplan cards also provides
up to 60,000 Aeroplan points, a
Buddy Pass and an annual fee
rebate. All told the
points and buddy pass are worth no less than $1,200 in our minds and in
reality should be worth much more than that. The main difference between
the non-Plus and Plus is the annual fee being lower but you need to
meet more stringent application requirements.

American Express® Aeroplan®* Business Reserve Card
Minimum value: $1,051

In
the first year with this card you can earn 90,000 Aeroplan Points and a
Bonus Buddy Pass. The points are worth $1,350 and we place a minimum
$300 value on the Buddy Pass. Combine those two and take away the $599
annual fee and you have no less than $1,051 in value with this card! For
most you should be able to get even more value out of that since we are
valuing Aeroplan points at 1.5 cents each and it easy to get that above
2 cents. Add in the extras this card has like Maple Leaf Lounge access,
strong earn and a spend based companion pass make this card a must for
small business looking to earn Aeroplan points. Apply for the card here.

TD Aeroplan Visa Business

TD® Aeroplan® Visa* Business Card
Minimum value: $750

This
card is offering up to 30,000 points and a bonus Buddy Pass when you
get it. On top of that there is no annual fee in the first year if you
apply by March 6. The points and Buddy Pass combined provide a value
of no less than $750. To earn the full 30,000 points make sure you can
spend $10,000 on the card in the first three months as they are awarding
2x points on that much spending as part of the welcome bonus.

Marriott Bonvoy™ Business American Express®* Card

Minimum value: $650

This card now awards 70,000 Marriott Bonvoy points which are awarded
after
spending $5,000 on the card in three months. On top of that you can earn
5X the points on eligible gas, dining & travel purchases in Canada
for the first 3 months of Cardmembership up to a maximum of 15,000
points.
Those points plus the spend bonus are worth at
least $800 in
our minds and with a $150 annual fee puts the value at $650. In reality you can pull
WAY MORE value out of the card (into four figures) as we outlined in
our post Finding huge value in the 70,000 point welcome bonuses on the Marriott Bonvoy credit cards !  Don’t forget you get an annual free night with the card as well on the card anniversary date!

If you went for all these cards you ultimately could end up with nearly $5,000 in travel credits but even if you only take
on
one or two you are helping your travel budget significantly at no cost
other than regular credit card spend. We don’t really recommend getting
all five in one month unless you know you can meet the minimum spend for
them all at once, rather you’d want to pick one or two right now,
perhaps another next month and so on.
