California is once again proving to be a popular destination for Canadians, especially for those out west! In just the past few months we’ve seen Flair Airlines announce flights to Hollywood Burbank, Air Canada announcing of Vancouver to Orange County service and now it’s WestJet’s turn as they announced today that they are bringing back Calgary to Orange County flights and moving from summer service to year round service between Calgary and San Francisco.
The Calgary to Orange County/Anaheim flights will begin on November 4 with service twice per week. That will move up to three times per week as of December 7. The Calgary to San Francisco flights will move to year round service as of October 31 and will operate twice per week.
The YYC to SNA flights will depart at 10:20am and arrive at 12:30pm with the return flights leaving at 1:20pm arriving back in Calgary at 5:28pm. Fares on the first day of this flight are pricing as low as $196 one way with all taxes and fees included.
Personally we are very excited here at Rewards Canada to see the Orange County flight return as prior to the pandemic we traveled to Southern California frequently to visit Disneyland and spend a lot of time in the Southern California beach cities. With Newport Beach being one of our favourites these flights are perfect for us as the airport is literally less than a 20 minute drive away versus the hour or so from LAX – and we can avoid the craziness that is LAX! You can bet we’ll be booking ourselves onto these flights for our next foray to Southern California and will most likely use our companion vouchers from our WestJet RBC World Elite Mastercards to fly the four of us in WestJet Premium seeing that we are sitting on four vouchers between my wife and I.
