July 29 Update: Aeroplan extends generous refund & rebooking policy + Air Canada adds more flights out of Quebec City

Here’s your Rewards Canada Daily update! Your daily dose (or near

Air Canada Aeroplan has updated their refund and rebooking policy by extending it to August 31:

Aeroplan flight rewards booked through August 31, 2021 can be changed or cancelled free of charge, at any time.  Members
can cancel free of charge and receive all of their points back in their
account, plus a full refund of any associated taxes, fees and charges
on the unused value of travel. For changes, members will pay only
the difference in points, or receive a partial refund if their new
itinerary requires fewer points. In addition, a difference in taxes,
fees and charges may apply when changing an itinerary.

As a reminder, members can quickly and easily cancel their Aeroplan flight rewards at aircanada.com.

Beginning September 1, 2021, Aeroplan flight rewards are
subject to the change and cancellation fee structure of the fare option
purchased. 

  • Existing bookings (made through August 31, 2021) are eligible for a
    one-time free change or cancellation, even after this date. Please note
    any subsequent change or cancellation may be subject to a fee. 
  • Aeroplan Super Elite members will continue to enjoy no change and
    cancellation fees for flight rewards redeemed from their accounts,
    regardless of the fare option purchased. 
  • Economy Latitude, Premium Economy Flexible, Business Class
    Flexible and First Class Flexible reward fare options offer waived
    change and cancellation fees for all members.

September 1, 2021.

Continuing with Air Canada, the airline is adding more flights out of Quebec City.  The city will see new flights to  Fort Lauderdale and Orlando starting in November and December respectively. They will also see increased flights Punta Cana and Cancun. All flights will be operated with Air Canada Rouge A319 aircraft (Source Air Canada)
