Yesterday we let you know that the increased welcome offer for the BMO Rewards® Business Mastercard® is coming to a close in just under a week. Well we also received notice from BMO that two of their other BMO Rewards cards will also be seeing decreased welcome offers. Both are the consumer Mastercards – the BMO World Elite™* MasterCard®* and the BMO Rewards® MasterCard will be seeing their current offers of 40,000 points and 15,000 points being decreased as of March 2nd.
The BMO World Elite Mastercard will retain a first year annul fee waiver but will drop down to 30,000 points from the current 40,000 broken down as 25,000 after you spend $3,000 plus 5,000 more points on your card anniversary date. The no annual fee BMO Rewards Mastercard will see it’s bonus cut from 15,000 points to 10,000 points.
Ideally if you have been planning to grab either one of these cards you’ll want to do so by March 1st so you can earn those additional points.
Remember as well the upcoming change to the BMO Rewards program that sees travel redemptions going from 140 points for $1 to 150 points
for $1. To negate this change BMO will be boosting everyone’s balances
by 7% so you don’t lose value for your current points but any points
earned from May will be worth less.
To recap here are the current offerings for these two cards:
