The bonus is good for the first $1,000 of purchases, once you hit $1,000 any spending above that will revert back to 1 point per dollar spent. This 10x points is the equivalent of a 10% return when redeeming for travel or a 7% return (think cash back) when redeeming points against any other purchases made on the card. Those points can also be converted to Marriott Rewards (10 Membership Rewards points = 12 Marriott Rewards points) which can then be converted to 40+ different airline programs including Aeroplan. The equivalent earn of the 10x points is 4 to 5 miles per dollar spent depending on how many Marriott Rewards points you convert to an airline.
