Alaska Airlines has launched a new buy miles offer that ranges from 30% to 50% depending on how many miles you buy. Ideally you want to buy so you get the 50% bonus which means you’d have to buy 30,000 or more miles.
With the 50% bonus you are buying Mileage Plan miles for 1.97 US cents each. With upcoming changes to the Mileage Plan program where it is expected the coveted awards on partner airlines will increase in cost by late December this may be the time you buy miles to top off your account for an award flight so long as you redeem by mid-December to lock in current award chart pricing (ie Cathay Pacific First Class for 70K one way)
