PAL Airlines Aeroplan

Eastern Canada’s PAL Airlines joins Air Canada Aeroplan

Air Canada Aeroplan continues to grow its airline partner roster and the latest to be added is PAL Airlines. Based out of St. John’s, Newfoundland, PAL is one of the largest independent airlines in Eastern Canada and as of today Aeroplan members can earn and redeem points on PAL flights.

PAL offers flights to numerous destinations in Newfoundland and Labrador, Quebec, New Brunswick plus Ottawa with an all economy class fleet of Dash 8 and Beech 1900D aircraft

Earning Aeroplan Points on PAL

Aeroplan members who add their Aeroplan number to their PAL reservations for paid flights will Aeroplan points as follows:

  • Economy Class (Y, R Fare): 125% base points
  • Economy Class (V, L, H, U Fare): 75% base points
  • Economy Class (T, K, D, A, C Fare): 25% base points
  • Economy Class (O, M, F Fare): 0% base points

Redeeming Aeroplan Points on PAL

Redeeming points on PAL works as follows:

  • Flights will be priced based on Aeroplan’s pricing for partner airlines for a limited time. Later in 2023, we will be transitioning regional Canadian partners to a new chart for reward pricing.
  • Members will be able to book PAL flights online at aircanada.com, through the Air Canada mobile app, or via Aeroplan’s Contact Centre.
  • Flights can be combined with flights operated by Air Canada and our other international airline partners.
  • PAL flights are eligible for redemption in Economy class as they operate an all-economy fleet.
  • The partner booking fee will apply for flight rewards including travel on PAL.

It is great to see that you can combine the PAL flights with any others that you can book on the Air Canada site. I’ll be curious to see what this new regional Canadian partners reward chart will look like!

Wrapping it up

Air Canada Aeroplan continues to grow its airline partner list like there is no tomorrow!  This latest addition is a very welcome one as it is unlike some of the niche carriers they have added in recent years. PAL should appeal to a lot more Canadians – especially those in Eastern Canada and I’m sure the Aeroplan partnership will work well for both PAL and Air Canada.
