Aeroplan members can earn 3x Aeroplan points on new Rocky Mountaineer rail journeys that are booked by July 11 and completed by December 31, 2023. This is the second year in a row we have seen this bonus for travel on one of the most highly regarded rail excursion companies in the world. Whether your journey is through the Canadian Rockies or the U.S. Rockies, you can earn extra points on those trips.
The 3x Aeroplan Points Bonus Offer
The standard earn rates for Aeroplan members with Rocky Mountaineer are 1 point per dollar spent for SilverLeaf or SilverLeaf Plus and 2 points per dollar for GoldLeaf. However with this bonus the earn rate is as follows:
- 3 Aeroplan Points (1 base Aeroplan Point and 2 bonus Aeroplan Points) for every $1 CAD spent on a SilverLeaf® Service or a SilverLeaf Plus® Service booked during the Promo Period; or
- 6 Aeroplan Points (2 base Aeroplan Points and 4 Bonus Aeroplan Points) for every $1 CAD spent on a GoldLeaf® Service booked during the Promo Period.
With packages easily running into the five figures you can see that there is the potential to earn a lot of Aeroplan points with this promotion!

That being said, if you happen to have Air Canada Elite Status or an Ultra Premium Co-brand credit card you may wish to forego earning 6 points per dollar to save some cash since you can book a SilverLeaf package to earn 3x points and be upgraded to GoldLeaf. See the next section for details!
