It’s not just limited to AIR MILES Mastercards and you don’t even have to show your AIR MILES card. Have a WestJet RBC World Elite Mastercard or a Rogers Red World Elite Mastercard? You can link them and earn whatever bonus AIR MILES may be offering when you use that linked card for your purchase.

Clarification for the 30% bonus on Amex Flexible Points Travel redemptions
Several of RWRDS Canada eagle-eyed readers noticed a discrepancy in the terms and conditions of the 30% bonus on Amex Flexible Points Travel redemptions we let you know about several weeks ago. That discrepancy was for the offer provided to American Express Gold Rewards Cardmembers where the T&C’s stated a 30% bonus on up to 100,000 points redeemed but then also stated a maximum of 20,000 bonus points could be earned – so the math didn’t add up.
We reached out to Amex and they have confirmed that the maximum of 20,000 points is correct and that the T&C’s should state the 30% bonus is awarded on up to 66,667 points redeemed. It appears to be a simple copy and paste error from the Platinum card’s offer. (Looks like I am not the only one guilty of making copy and paste errors!)
Here are the updated T&Cs:
From January 13, 2025 until February 28, 2025, when you redeem your Membership Rewards® points through Flexible Points Travel Program2 you can earn bonus points equivalent to 30% of the total points redeemed up to a maximum of 20,000 bonus points during the offer period. Your Basic American Express Card account referenced in this email is eligible for the offer. A maximum combined total of 66,667 points in redemptions with the Flexible Points Travel Program are eligible for the 30% bonus points offer. A combined maximum of 20,000 bonus points can be awarded during the offer period. If one redemption, or multiple redemptions exceed 66,667 points, you will only earn 30% bonus on 66,667 points. Account must be in good standing and enrolled in Membership Rewards during the offer period and at the time of bonus fulfillment. You must have received the offer communication directly from American Express to qualify. In case you did not receive any direct offer communication from American Express but redeems points on your account, the Card account will not be eligible for the offer. Points may take up to 90 days to be credited to the account, after the campaign period is over. If the total number of bonus points to be awarded includes a fraction of a point, we will round up to the nearest whole point. Rewarded points may be reversed if the qualifying transactions are refunded or cancelled.
