The Scotiabank Gold American Express Card is well known for its 6x points earning at Scene+ grocery stores and 5x points earning on all other groceries plus restaurants, fast food, and drinking establishments including popular food delivery and food subscriptions. But, perhaps somewhat less known or at least not discussed as much is the card’s accelerated earn rate of 3x points on select Canadian streaming services.

Rewards Canada community member Joshua C. asked if there was a published list of streaming services that qualify for earning 3x points as there isn’t anything available on Scotia’s website. To the best of our knowledge there was not a list so we reached out to Scotia to see if they could provide one and we are pleased to pass along the details they provided to us.
Streaming services that earn 3x points on the Scotia Gold Amex
Here is the list of confirmed 3x points earning streaming services in Canada:

It’s a pretty sparse list, somewhat similar to this card’s fraternal twin, the American Express Cobalt Card, although the latter has a little bit of bigger selection of streaming providers that earn 3x points. That being said, our contact at Scotia mentioned there are a few more newer services which also earn the 3x points and will get the list of those to me shortly. I’ll update this post once we receive that update!
