Receive up to a 40% bonus when you buy Marriott Bonvoy points

Marriott Bonvoy is out with another bonus for buying their points. This time it is a mystery bonus that will be revealed to you once you log in to the buy points page. Personally, I received an offer for 40% bonus points when buying 2,000 or more points by September 8, 2023.

This current offer is 10% lower than the maximum bonus we saw during the last mystery offer this past spring. We have seen it go as high as 60% during the pandemic but I’m not sure if we’ll see that again – at least anytime soon. Let us know in the comments section below what bonus you receive!

The bonus offer I received is broken down as follows:

  • 30% bonus when you buy 2,000–9,000 points
  • 35% bonus when you buy 10,000–39,000 points
  • 40% bonus when you buy 40,000–100,000 points

With a 40% bonus you are buying points for 0.89 cents US$ each or about 1.25 to 1.5 cents each in C$ (Depending on which province you are in as the points purchase is subject to GST/HST).

We value Marriott Bonvoy points at a minimum of 1 cent C$ each which is below the price you would buying them with this bonus. That being said, we always stress it is a minimum. If you read our Everyday Value Series post Marriott Bonvoy provides great value for everyday hotel stays in Canada you’ll see many examples where redeeming points provides 1.7, 1.9 or even as much as 3.6 cents per point in value. In those cases in can make sense to buy the points as a cost savings measure against the sky high hotel prices we are currently seeing!
