OFFER EXTENDED! Aeroplan credit cardholders get every fourth night free when booking hotels with points

Launched in 2023, Air Canada Aeroplan’s 4th night free benefit for co-brand cardholders booking hotels with points has been extended. The benefit was set to end on December 31, 2024 and that has now been updated to run right through to the end of 2025 (Dec 31)

This benefit takes a page out hotel loyalty program playbooks for using points on longer duration consecutive night hotel stays. For Aeroplan cardholders  that benefit is an every fourth night free benefit when they redeem points for hotel stays. Simply book a 4 night stay to get one of them for free, book eight nights to get two of them for free and so on!

Receive your fourth night free when booking with Aeroplan Points

Aeroplan Credit Cardholders can get a free night’s stay when booking four consecutive nights at a hotel with Aeroplan points. This free night is available for each and every four nights on a stay so if you book an eight night stay you will only need to redeem points for six nights, twelve nights pay for only nine and so on.

4th night free benefit

This offer is available for bookings at over 300,000 hotels worldwide made until December 31, 2025 with the actual stay dates extending well beyond 2025. The fourth night free applies to all eligible Aeroplan primary co-brand cardholders and linked secondary cardholders, including U.S. cardholders.

Free night is based on average point price across the stay

Unlike Marriott’s famous fifth night free benefit which is applied to the one night that costs the least amount in points, Aeroplan’s fourth night free is based on the average nightly price in points of all four nights, eight nights etc. For example, four nights at the InterContinental Hotels Bora Bora Resort Thalasso Spa in March 2025 runs 489,000 points or an average of 122,250 points per night. In this case you would end up having to only redeem 366,750 points for the four night stay. That works out nearly 2.3 cents per point in value! That’s pretty awesome.

But also unlike Marriott’s free night benefit, Aeroplan requires you to have one of their co-brand credit cards to avail of the free night benefit. Marriott’s is available to all program members regardless of them having a co-brand card or not.

So here’s the trick – earn as many Aeroplan points as possible with the American Express Cobalt Card and get yourself one of the Aeroplan co-brand cards so that you can get this fourth night free benefit!

And another tip – if you are considering the TD® Aeroplan® Visa Infinite* Card be sure to apply via RWRDS Canada to get up to 50,000 bonus points instead of the public offer of up to 40,000 points. Click here to apply for our 50,000 points offer

The free night can be combined with HotelSavers

Aeroplan’s HotelSavers option, where you can save up to 30% of the number of points required at over 7,000 hotels worlwide can be stacked with the fourth night free benefit. The Bora Bora example above is a perfect example of this! As a reminder here’s the estimated points requirements for hotels that participate in the HotelSavers program:
