Hyatt revealed their annual hotel category changes today. This is the list of hotels that are moving up or down within the World of Hyatt program’s award chart categories. There are no changes to the actual categories or published points requirements – those all remain the same.
The annual changes will take effect on Tuesday March 26, 2024. This year there are 183 hotels in total that are changing categories. 46 will drop in award category while 137 will go up to higher category. Here in Canada we have three hotels that are moving up to a higher category. Nearly a third of Hyatt’s locations here in Canada have been increased over this year and last as 2023 also saw three locations seeing increases.
The Canadian hotels affected:
- Hyatt House Winnipeg South / Outlet – moves from Category 1 to 2 (from 5,000 to 8,000 points)
- The Anndore House – moves from Category 3 to 4 (from 12,000 to 15,000 points)
- Hyatt Regency Toronto – moves from Category 3 to 4 (from 12,000 to 15,000 points)
Additional details:
- When you book before March 26, your reservations will follow the current free night award chart found here.
- Reservations made or modified on or after March 26 will follow the new free night award chart and incorporate the updates noted below.
- Existing reservations for nights on or after March 26 will receive a refund for the point difference if the hotel moved to a lower category.
