The Scotiabank version of the Amex’s famous Shop Small promotion has returned! If you have a Scotia issued Amex card you’ll want to register your card right away for this great promotion as it is limited to the first 10,000 cards registered.
The promotion offers a $10 statement credit each time you spend $30 or more at a participating Amex Shop Small merchant until July 31, 2023. The credit can be earned up to 5 times when you shop at 5 different retailers using you register Scotiabank American Express card.

What is Shop Small?
If you are unfamiliar with Amex’s Shop Small, these are merchants that accept Amex that are not major retailers like your Sobeys, Staples, Walmart type of stores. These are more of your mom and pop, independent small businesses, food trucks and so on. Each and every year American Express supports their Small Business partners globally with these Shop Small promotions to encourage cardmembers to go out and shop at these retailers.
Finding Shop Small merchants
To find participating retailers you can go to Amex’s Shop Small map page which is great for searching for the non-major retailers that accept Amex. Simply look for the Shop Small logo beside a merchant name!

Wrapping it up
Shop Small has made its return for 2023 – well at least for Scotia issued Amex cards! We can only assume this will mean we should see it in the near future for Amex’s own Amex cards! We’ll keep an eye out for it and let you know as soon as we find anything out!
