We continue our monthly feature where we recommend a card to consider
applying for right away during the course of the current month. How do
we pick which card should be highlighted? We’ll look at numerous factors
however in most cases it will primarily be due to the limited time
offer on the highlighted card ending this month or shortly thereafter. In some cases, it may be different factors or a combination of factors.

The Welcome Bonus
You’ll
receive 20,000 Aeroplan points when you make your first purchase with your new card and then you can up to 85,000 Aeroplan points when you spend $1,000
each month for the first 10 months of Account opening. You’ll be awarded with 8,500
Aeroplan Points per month for those first 10 months so long as you can spend $1,000 in each of those months. This card has a $150,000 annual personal income or $200,000 annual household income requirement.
Value in the bonus
We value Aeroplan points at no less than 1.5 cents each which puts the value of the 105,000 points you can earn with this offer at $1,575. Subtract the $599 annual fee and you are looking at no less than $976 in value. As usual we state no less as you can get even more value out of Aeroplan points depending on the type of travel you redeem for. For example we recently posted about business class availability on Austrian Airlines between Montreal and Vienna where the value was 2.83 cents per point. At that amount the 105,000 points are worth $2971.50 before subtracting the annual fee. That’s a huge value from the welcome bonus you won’t find on many other cards.
Wrapping it up
There is a little over a month left to get the current welcome bonus of 105,000 points with the TD Aeroplan Visa Infinite Privilege Card as the offer ends on September 5. It is not likely the offer will be any better as of September 6th and at the most will offer the same bonus. If you have had your eye on this card you could definitely consider getting this month to lock in the current offer.
