A new batch of Visa Infinite Privilege dining and
stay offers were released this month. This time the new dining offers
are in Halifax, Calgary Toronto an more. Here are just some of the new
offers available exclusively to these Ultra Premium credit cards:

This news seemed to have slipped through from last month but
Air Canada made a bunch of changes to bag fees in April, especially hard
hitting is the fee for bags on Aeroplan award tickets:

Air Canada has revised its checked baggage policy for customers
travelling internationally* on an Aeroplan flight reward. Fees, per
direction are:

  • 1st bag: 75.00 CAD/USD
  • 2nd bag: 100.00 CAD/USD

the checked baggage policy for customers travelling to and from the
following countries/regions was also revised. Fees, per direction, are
now as follows:

  • Economy Basic fares on flights between Canada and Europe:
    • 1st bag: 75.00 CAD/USD
    • 2nd bag: 100.00 CAD/USD
  • Economy Basic fares on flights between the United-States and Europe:
    • 1st bag: 75.00 CAD/USD
    • 2nd bag: 100.00 CAD/USD
  • Economy Standard, Flex and comfort fares on flights between Canada and Algeria, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan or Morocco:
    • 1st bag: free
    • 2nd bag: 100.00 CAD/USD
  • Economy Standard, Flex and comfort fares on flights between Mexico and Egypt:
    • 1st bag: free
    • 2nd bag: 100.00 CAD/USD

Seeing what these fees have jumped up to,  it just makes even more sense to
have an Aeroplan co-brand premium or ultra premium card that covers the
first checked bag fee on Air Canada flights.

Air Canada Aeroplan has once again extended their
flexible change policy for Aeroplan flight rewards. The extension now
sees Aeroplan waiving change fees on reward tickets until May 31,
2022 and the amount of changes you can make are unlimited. For bookings
made by May 31 but changed on or after June 1, 2022 you will have the
first change fee waived but any others after that will incur a fee.
Applicable change fees will apply to any new bookings that are made on
or after June 1. The program does seem to be adjusting these
frequently so it is entirely possible they will be extended again in
the near future.

  • For changes, you’ll pay the difference in points or receive a
    partial refund if your new itinerary requires fewer points. In
    addition, a difference in taxes, fees and charges may apply when
    changing your itinerary.
  • To make a change to a flight reward call the Aeroplan Contact
    Centre at 1-800-361-5373. All flight rewards must be changed at least 2
    hours prior to departure.

Aeroplan’s flight reward cancellation policy remains unchanged.
