The current era of card issuers topping their best ever welcome bonus offers with even better offers continues today with BMO revealing new best ever promotions for their BMO World Elite™* Mastercard®*, BMO eclipse Visa Infinite* Card and the BMO eclipse Visa Infinite Privilege* Card. The two premium cards see welcome offers of up to 60,000 bonus points and the first year annual fee waived while the ultra premium Infinite Privilege card sees an offer of up to 90,000 points.
The offers for the World Elite Mastercard and Visa Infinite Card definitely stand out as the most attractive offers here. Both will reward you with 30,000 points when you spend $3,000 in the first 3 months and 2,500 points for each subsequent month for 12 months (months 4 to 15) when you spend at least $2,000 in purchases on your card per month. This means you need to spend $27,000 over the course of 15 months to receive the full bonus. Good news is both of these cards have first year free waivers for the primary and first additional card but you will be paying those in month 13 as you make your way to trying to score the entire bonus. This is an interesting move for the awarding of the bonus – they are taking a couple of Amex’s requirements like monthly spend for part of the bonus and also spend in months 14-17 and combining them into one. This pushes someone to spend quite a bit on their card every month and also to keep it longer than a year and not cancelling it prior to having to pay the annual fee. Technically you could redeem the points you’ve accumulated up to the beginning of month 12 (50,000 points not including your base earn on spending) and then cancel the card without paying the annual fee if you find that you are not happy with it .
The offer for the Visa Infinite Privilege Card on the other hand may be considered somewhat less attractive when you compare it to the other two offers but it could work for some people out there. It awards 50,000 points when you spend $6,000 in the first three months and 40,000 more points if you spend $100,000 on the card in the first year.
Here are each of the individual offers and some highlights of each card:

Wrapping it up
BMO has joined the ranks of many of other issuers by coming out with some highest ever welcome bonus points offers on select cards. They have however put in some heftier than other issuer spend requirements to earn those points at $27,000 in total for the World Elite Mastercard and eclipse Visa Infinite Card and $100,000 for the eclipse Visa Infinite Privilege Card. Most cards that compete with these cards only require $1,000 to $7,500 in spending with several requiring you to hold on them into a second year to receive the entire bonus. This is where your math skills and confidence in spending will have to come in to play to see if it makes sense for you to go for one of these three new offers from BMO.
