Back in April 2020 Mastercard Canada launched new benefits that became available on all Canadian World and World Elite Mastercard. Those new benefits were free global WiFi from Boingo, a short lived stint with Foodora (not Mastercard’s fault), a credit with Ritual and Mastercard Travel Rewards. After launching those new benefits and the loss of Foodora the promise of more exclusive offers for World and World Elite cardholders went dormant. For well over a year no new exclusive offers or benefits were added, that is until now. Actually, since about mid-October or so but I hadn’t checked the offer page since the summer and now there is one new benefit afforded to eligible cardholders.

That benefit is four months of Apple Music for free for any Canadian World or World Elite Mastercard holders. At $9.99 per month this represents nearly a $40 value – not a bad new benefit at all. You then will have to decide if you want to continue with the subscription after that or cancel it prior to being charged. This offer is good for new Apple Music subscribers only. If you have subscribed in the past and want to return you’ll be eligible for one free month of Apple Music. Unfortunately current subscribers are not eligible for this offer.

Input your name and card details in the form and as it states they will take you straight to Apple if you are eligible. This offer is good until December 14, 2022 so if you don’t have a World or World Elite Mastercard right now you still have time to take advantage of this offer if you do get a card in the near future. If you are already a World or World Elite cardholder hopefully this is a benefit you can make use of and don’t forget about the offers like the Ritual vouchers and the free Boingo Wi-Fi which actually provides access on several airlines worldwide but most importantly for us Canadians, it provides free Wi-Fi on WestJet.
Wrapping it up
The offers page for Canadian World and World Elite Mastercards sat dormant for the better of a year and half and seemed forgotten. It’s nice to know they haven’t forgotten about it and now they have added one more benefit to the list. Hopefully this means Mastercard is still actively pursuing even more potential offers and benefits that we could see on our World and World Elite Mastercards.
