Plaza Premium opens two new lounges at Toronto Pearson International Airport

This month saw third party business class lounge provider Plaza Premium open up two new lounges at Toronto’s Pearson International Airport. One is a temporary lounge to cover for the renovation of an existing lounge and the other is their new flagship lounge in Canada called the Landmark lounge. This brings the company’s total number of lounges in Canada to 14 including the recently opened Air France KLM lounge in Montreal plus one Wellbeing spa.

Plaza Premium Landmark Lounge

Location: International Departures, Terminal 3, AT Level, via Gate C32

This lounge in Terminal 3 is being hailed as Plaza Premium’s flagship lounge in Canada with almost 12,000 square feet of space to accommodate over 300 guests.  The lounge has enhanced dining options serving local and organic foods along with the ‘Aerobar’ which will serve up premium drinks. It also features shower facilities, a wellness spa offering services like massages and manicures, a children’s play area and much more. Check out this video highlighting much of the new lounge:

This lounge will also feature “Lounge to Go” which allows travellers to take food options with them outside of the lounge.

The Landmark lounge is open daily from 3:00pm to 11:00pm. Click here to learn more about this new lounge

Plaza Premium Concept Lounge

Location:Domestic Check in – Pre Security, Level 3. Terminal 1 (right before security)

This is Plaza Premium’s temporary lounge in T1 that has been set up to serve customers while their heavily utilized main lounge for domestic departures in T1 undergoes renovations with a slated reopening in May of 2022. The Concept Lounge is interesting in the fact that it is located pre-security but don’t worry about having to leave the lounge too early to clear security as all lounge visitors receive a Fast Track card to get through security faster. Despite being temporary it operates just like any other lounge with unlimited food and beverages, free Wi-Fi and more.

The Concept lounge is open daily from 5:30am to 8:00pm. Click here to learn more about this new lounge.

Accessing the lounges

The best way to access the new Plaza Premium Lounges (and all other Plaza Premium Lounges for that matter) is with the Platinum Card from American Express. The card provides unlimited access to the lounges for the primary cardmember and one guest. Additional or supplementary Platinum cardholders also receive the same benefit That’s what we do here in the Rewards Canada family to get access for the four of us is by using both the primary and additional card for access. The American Express Gold Rewards card is another option as the card provides 4 Plaza Premium lounge access passes per year.

Select Canadian Visa Infinite and Visa Infinite Privilege Cards are also providing passes to Plaza Premium lounges due to Priority Pass losing access to them. This limited time offer for these cards is in place until June 30, 2022. We are not sure yet if these cards will receive any complimentary access passes after that date. Click here to learn more about the Visa Plaza Premium offer.

Finally if you don’t have any of these cards that provide access to the lounges you can also purchase access directly from Plaza Premium with access starting around C$50 per person. Click here to purchase access from Plaza Premium

You can also buy multiple visit passes to save on your entry fees and they have them on sale right now until January 9. Buy those passes here

Finally, no matter how you access the lounge you should join Plaza Premium’s My Smart Traveller program to earn points on each lounge visit (Even those covered by credit cards) which can then be used for further lounge access, discounts and more.

Wrapping it up

Plaza Premium’s two new lounges are a welcome sight for travellers at Toronto’s Pearson International airport. The new flagship Landmark Lounge looks to set the standard for third party lounges in Canada and my guess is the Terminal 1 lounge undergoing renos right now will be very similar to this one. In the meantime it’s a great move on Plaza Premium to open the temporary Concept Lounge to cover for the closure of their main Terminal 1 lounge. Let us know if you have visited either of these lounges or plan to in the coming weeks! Leave your comments below with your thoughts! Were you impressed? Not impressed? What did you like or dislike about them? And so on!
