A popular trend we have seen over the past year or so has been credit card issuers and loyalty programs teaming up delivery service companies to provide extra value for their members. One of those that emerged over summer that provides great value was the partnership between RBC and DoorDash. In August the two companies came out with an offer that provides a complimentary DashPass subscription for up to 12 months with an eligible RBC credit card. The offer was made available to both existing cardholders and also to any one who gets themselves a new RBC credit card.

The following RBC cards get a 3 month complimentary DashPass
subscription (a value of almost $30) when you add your RBC credit card
to your DoorDash account
If you are unfamiliar with DashPass, it is DoorDash’s subscription service (think Instacart Express if you are familiar with that) and DashPass allows you to receive unlimited deliveries from qualifying restaurants with $0 delivery fees on orders of $12 or more. Of course those orders need to be paid with the RBC card that added to your DoorDash account.
The DashPass offer is open to existing and new RBC cardholders so you can even take advantage of it by getting an RBC card right now. Wrapping it up
This is nice little extra that has been added to RBC’s line up of credit cards and is one that keeps the bank current in the heated Canadian credit card market. We’ve seen the likes of Aeroplan team up with Uber Eats, TD team up with Instacart and here you have RBC team up with DoorDash. Overall the RBC offer is probably the best of the bunch as the Aeroplan card offer only provides 6 months of membership for their premium card versus RBC’s 12 months (you have to have an Ultra Premium Aeroplan card to get 12 months) while TD’s offer with Instacart is only for 3 months no matter if you have an lower or higher end card.
