Long time Rewards Canada reader Len D. forwarded an offer he received on his TD Aeroplan Visa Infinite Card at the end of July. This is a targeted offer so if you hold a TD Aeroplan Visa Infinite Card, TD Aeroplan Visa Platinum Card or the TD Aeroplan Visa Business Card check your email inbox to see if you have received this offer.
The offer he received was to earn bonus points or statement credits for setting up automatic bill payments to be charged to your TD Aeroplan card.
In the email you’ll have the choice to pick from the bonus points or statement credits and once you choose the number of points or credits you receive will depend on how many of the pre-authorized payments you set up. You’ll earn 1,500 Aeroplan points or a $25 credit for 1 new payment, 3,000 points or a $50 credit for 2 payments or set up 3 payments to earn 7,500 points or a $100 statement credit. You must choose your option by November 2 and payments remain active on your account until December 15, 2021. Any pre-authorized payments you set up prior to July 26 are not eligible for this offer.
We value Aeroplan points at a minimum of 1.5 cents each so the 1,500 points is worth at least $22.50, 3,000 points is $45.00 and 7,500 is $112.50. You can do your due diligence to see if you want to earn the points or cash back depending on how many payments you can set up but do remember that our 1.5 cents valuation is a minimum. In most cases you should be able to get more value than that and the points will be worth more than the credits across the board. If I had received this offer I would have chosen the points route.
UPDATE: Per Dee’s comment below this is the offer they received on the TD® Aeroplan® Visa Infinite Privilege* Card:
