Top 5 Small Business Credit Card Sign Up offers for July – These cards provide the best value out of their welcome bonuses

Here are the Rewards Canada Top 5 Small Business Credit Card Sign Up
offers for this month! This is not a ‘best’ credit card
list like our Top Travel Rewards Credit Card rankings
but instead a look at cards for small businesses that have very good
acquisition (welcome/sign up) offers. As always when choosing a card
you should always take other factors into account other than the
just sign
up bonus, but when some of these cards are first year free, they
can and
do pay off even when you grab them strictly for the sign up rewards.
This month we see four first year free cards on the list! And remember
this list is based on minimum value towards travel which we calculate as
the minimum value of the welcome bonus less the annual fee. It is
entirely possible to receive more value out of the welcome bonuses on
some the cards below namely those like Aeroplan and Marriott.

Thanks to American
Express’ Massive best ever bonuses and accelerated earn rates on seven
American Express cards (Platinum, Aeroplan, Marriott Bonvoy & AIR
MILES)
we see their Aeroplan business card jump up to take the top spot. Overall Aeroplan dominates the list with three out of five cards
being co-branded Aeroplan cards.

Here are our top 5 small business credit card sign up offers for July:

American Express® Aeroplan®* Business Reserve Card

Minimum value: $901

Amex’s Ultra Premium Aeroplan business card is one of the seven cards that was
included in the massive new welcome offers released last month! You can
get up to 100,000 points for your spending in the first six months of
having the card plus on top of that you’ll earn 10x points
special offer on gas, eats & Drinks up to 50,000 points. In the end the
welcome offer provides up to 150,000 points – the most ever for an Aeroplan card. However for all intensive
purposes we don’t include that accelerated earn rate in our
calculations. Thus we take the 100,000 points bonus multiplied by our
Aeroplan point value of 1.5 cents per points and subtract the annual fee
of $599 to get a value of $901!

Minimum
Income: N/A

TD Aeroplan Visa Business

TD® Aeroplan® Visa* Business Card
Minimum value: $675

The new Aeroplan cards are here and the bonus offer on the mainstay
TD Business card provides 25,000 Aeroplan points, a Buddy Pass and an annual fee
rebate for the primary and first additional cardholder. All told the
points and buddy pass are worth no less than $675 in our minds and in
reality should be worth much more than that. To get in on this bonus you
have to apply by August 16, 2021. Learn more about the Buddy Pass here and the New Aeroplan program here.

CIBC® Aeroplan® Visa* Business Card

Minimum value: $600
CIBC’s
equivalent of the above TD provides 20,000 Aeroplan points, a
Buddy Pass and an annual fee
rebate for the primary cardholder but goes beyond and offers first year
free on the first three additional cardholders. All told the
points and buddy pass are worth no less than $600 in our minds and in
reality should be worth much more than that.  Learn more about the Buddy Pass here and the New Aeroplan program here

Business Platinum Card® from American Express

Minimum value: $501
Right
now you can get 100,000 Membership Rewards points when you are approved
for this card and spend $10,000 in the first three months via a
referral. When you click the link above for the card you’ll be taken to a
referral page for the personal Platinum Card – simply click on “View
our other cards” to see the Business Platinum Offer. Those 100,000
points are worth no less than $1,000 and the annual fee is $499 on this
card hence the $501 valuation.

Marriott Bonvoy™ Business American Express® Card

Minimum value: $500

Another one of the seven cards that was
included in the massive new welcome offers released last month! This
card now awards 65,000 Marriott Bonvoy points which are awarded
after
spending $5,000 on the card in six months. Those points are worth at
least $650 in
our minds but you do have to pay the $150 annual fee so you end up with
$500 in value. The card has an additional bonus right now of 15,000
points awarded after you have the card for 14 months plus, earn 5 points for every $1 in Card purchases on eligible Gas,
Dining and Travel for the first six months of Cardmembership. In reality you can pull
even more value out of the card (into four figures) as we outlined in
our post A look at how The Marriott Bonvoy American Express Card provides huge value!  Don’t forget you get an annual free night with the card as well on the card anniversary date!

If you went for all these cards you ultimately could end up with over $3,000 in travel credits but even if you only take
on
one or two you are helping your travel budget significantly at no cost
other than regular credit card spend. We don’t really recommend getting
all five in one month unless you know you can meet the minimum spend for
them all at once, rather you’d want to pick one or two right now,
perhaps another next month and so on.
