March 26 Update: Earn up to 25x points when booking travel with More Rewards and WestJet further expands summer schedule with flights to B.C. from across Canada

Here’s your Rewards Canada Daily update! Your daily dose (or near
daily dose) of loyalty program, credit card and travel news, bonuses,
deals and more.

More Rewards members can earn 10x points for booking
Sandman Hotel stays via More Rewards Travel. This means you will earn
10 points per dollar spent on those stays (before taxes and fees of
course) plus what points/miles you earn on your credit card. This offer
is valid for stays until December 31, 2021. Learn more here.

And keeping on the theme of More Rewards you can
also earn 25x the points (so 25 points per dollar spent) on any hotels,
car rentals or excursions booked via More Rewards Travel. Bookings must
be made by March 31. I would assume this 25x points would be available
on any Sandman bookings instead of the 10x points so long as the booking

It’s only been a few days since WestJet last announced
some network resumptions and today we have the news of the launch of 11
new and returning routes that will start in June. If I am not mistaken
10 of the 11 routes are actually new routes WestJet has not flown before
and you can tell they are definitely looking at where Canadians will be
traveling or vacationing for the summer – and that is British Columbia!

February 2021 saw the highest hotel occupancy rates in Canada since
November and that was an occupancy rate of 27.3% – that’s 53% below the
same month last year. At the city level Vancouver had the highest
