A quick note about this upcoming week here on Rewards Canada – a lot
of our regularly scheduled and planned programming may be delayed as the
focus this week is on Black Friday and Cyber Monday deals! This means
some posts we had planned for the new Aeroplan program may not come out
until next week, coverage of the new Desjardins World Elite Cash Back card that many of you have let us know about will be next week and we may not even have a hotel bonus points summary post for
this month! It will really come down to how many offers we
come across to post and add to our deals page.

Credit cards that are issued by Collabria (think a
lot of small credit union cards in Canada like Envision Financial) are
going to have their earn rates change in January. It’s pretty much a
devalution across the board. There is only one increase in points
earning and that is for the Visa Infinite and World Mastercards which
see grocery purchases bumped up to 3 points per dollar with a $20,000
cap each year. Dining and entertainment are kept at 2 points with a
$15,000 cap and but all of that is quickly offset by most other
purchases dropping from 2 points per dollar to 1 point per dollar. I
know some readers of ours really like the Envision World Mastercard as
it was a straight 2% back on travel card but as of January that will now
range from 1% to 3%. Here is a breakdown of the changes:
