The last hurdle in Air Canada’s move to purchase Aeroplan back from Aimia was cleared yesterday. The “transaction was approved by holders representing 96% of Aimia’s common shares and
preferred shares who voted on the Transaction on a combined basis” With this approval it is expected that the transaction should be completed in the coming days. Once that happens we hope that we will start to hear some news from Air Canada on what their new program will look like starting in July 2020. If anything we should know more details of the new program in the second half of this year.
