Delta SkyMiles is lowering the amount of SkyMiles
earned on many of their partner airlines in select fare classes. For
example, here is a comparison of what you earn flying on WestJet now and
after the changes take effect on January 1. The good news is that
WestJet flights will now count towards Medallion qualifying status. You can find all the changes listed here.
Last week we let you know that the partnership between Alaska Airlines and Air France KLM
will be ending in 2018. Mileage Plan members can earn miles until the
end of April 2018 but what is interesting is Flying Blue members will
lose earning privileges on April 1st. (Source Flying Blue)
Hyatt Hotels announced their annual category changes
for hotels in their World of Hyatt of program. Only 9 hotels are
changing this year – 8 are going up in category while 1 is going down.
None of their hotels in Canada are affected by these changes. These
changes take affect at 12:01am Central time on December 13 (tonight
really!) (Source One Mile at a Time)
