For the past two or so years Alberta has been hurting. Our economy isn’t doing great and there are lots of people who are unemployed. Despite this it hasn’t stopped Marriott Hotels from making a big push into the Alberta market with their hotels. I’m guessing some of these if not most of them were planned before the market tanked and also one takes into account what the long term looks like and as with all economic cycles, the Alberta market will rebound. There is already talk that things are getting better as more drilling rigs are operating this month than last year at this time.
