Most of the time on Rewards Canada we discuss bonus points, sign up offers or insurance benefits that come with credit and charge cards. Occasionally we discuss lounge access from these cards but there are other benefits that we don’t touch upon as much.
One benefit that my family has taken advantage of over and over again that does not deal with points, business class lounges or even insurance is American Express’ Front of the Line program. Having multiple Amex cards in our family card portfolio (Cobalt Card, The Platinum Card, Marriott Bonvoy) we have more than enough options to take advantage of FOTL!
What is Front of the Line? Essentially Front of the Line allows American Express Cardmembers to enjoy exclusive access to ticket presales and reserved seating offers for concerts, musicals, shows and much more.
Over the past 4 or so years we have used Front of the Line for the following concerts, musicals and shows, many of which sold out within minutes if not seconds:
- Selena Gomez
- Justin Bieber
- Lady Gaga
- Katy Perry
- Demi Lovato
- Imagine Dragons
- The Lion King
- Taylor Swift
- Darcy Oake
- Wicked
- Billy Elliot
- West Side Story
- and more!
From the list I believe you can tell that I have two daughters that enjoy going to concerts and shows. Truth be told that all but one of them also had my wife and I in attendance with them! Justin Bieber isn’t really my thing but seeing my girls enjoy these concerts is all the incentive I need to go. Others like Lady Gaga and Imagine Dragons were simply amazing concerts while all the musicals were awesome.

I know there are other ticket services out there but Front of the Line has always come through for us not only for the tickets but also as a notification service. I was totally unaware of some of the shows so I am thankful for when the email from FOTL came through to notify me! The seats usually assigned to FOTL have in most cases been anywhere from good to amazing, never have we had a bad seat.
If you don’t hold an American Express card and want access to Front of the Line you’ll have to get yourself one! Even if you don’t want to pay an annual fee you can get access through Amex’s no fee cards like the Choice or SimplyCash cards!
