  • Dynamic Points Redemption pricing
  • Taxes/Fees will be charged on rewards
  • More redemption options
  • Points transfers between members
  • Elite Status Benefits to begin immediately instead of at the start of the next year

Wrapping it up

VIA Rail has postponed the launch of the revamped Préférence that was supposed to take place on May 27, 2023. This is the second postponement we have seen from the program. There is no detail when it will launch but they state it will be communicated in the coming weeks:

Our redesigned loyalty program is part of VIA Rail’s modernization, and its launch will coincide with other modernization activities. Therefore, to ensure that it is seamlessly implemented, the launch, which was planned for May 27, 2023, will now take place at a later date that will be communicated to you in the coming weeks..
