WestJet quickly responds to Air Canada’s cuts out of Calgary with additional YOW & LAX flights
The day that Air Canada is set to significantly decrease service out of Calgary sees WestJet launching additional services on some of those routes being cut. On October 30 Air Canada will stop flying six major routes out of YYC including Ottawa and Los Angeles. It is service to those two cities that WestJet quicky responded to and announced an increase in flights to YOW and LAX as of October 30. (Source WestJet)
Beginning October 30, WestJet will double its daily service Calgary and Ottawa, adding 7 additional weekly flights during peak travel periods. In addition, 5 weekly flights have been added between Calgary and Los Angeles. In total, WestJet will operate close to 900 weekly flights from YYC Calgary International Airport during peak travel periods this winter season.
