The 5 Best Travel Rewards Points Currencies for Canadians
With HSBC’s move to stop accepting new applications for their credit cards and the resurgence of AIR MILES we have updated our The 5 Best Travel Rewards Points Currencies for Canadians feature. We have now moved AIR MILES into fifth spot replacing HSBC Rewards which had rounded out the top 5. For AIR MILES this was the spot they were originally set to be in when we re-released this feature in March but were dropped off the list due to their parent company declaring bankruptcy the day before we published the feature! My how times change quickly!

You can now book private home rentals with Hyatt
The Homes & Hideaways by World of Hyatt platform is now live and bookable for World of Hyatt members. As we previously reported this is hotel chain’s move into the private home and vacation rental market that is similar to Homes & Villas by Marriott Bonvoy. World of Hyatt members can now earn and redeem points for stays at properites booked via their platform. Currently the platform features properties in the U.S. but that will be expanded globally over the coming months. The stays will also count towards World of Hyatt elite status qualification.

British Airways Executive Club revenue based earn rates on flights are now live
Originally announced in July, British Airways Executive Club’s move to revenue based earn rates on British Airways, American Airlines and Iberia flights officially went into effect on October 18. Members will collect the following Avios depending on their Tier status:
- Blue members will receive 6 Avios per qualifying* £1 spent
- Bronze members will receive 7 Avios per qualifying £1 spent
- Silver members will receive 8 Avios per qualifying £1 spent
- Gold members will receive 9 Avios per qualifying £1 spent
