The no fee BMO Rewards Mastercard will no longer be available to new customers

Could this be the first sign of BMO moving to a unified rewards program for their AIR MILES and BMO Rewards credit cards?

We received notice the no annual fee BMO Rewards Mastercard is being decommissioned on November 14. As of that date you will no longer be able to apply for this no annual fee card for BMO’s proprietary program.This does not affect existing cardholders as they are able to keep using the card with no changes happening for them.

WestJet RBC World Elite Mastercard holders will not pay the extra $10 airport fee for their free bag

One of our X (Twitter) followers asked if the recent changes to WestJet baggage fees affect the WestJet RBC World Elite Mastercard. We checked with WestJet and the answer is yes and no.

As your first checked bag is free on WestJet flights when you have the WestJet RBC World Elite Mastercard, if you check that first bag at the airport with an agent you will not pay the fee. However, the fee will apply to cardholders if they have to pay for any baggage at the airport – for example checking a 2nd bag or if checking in for flights on a partner airline.
