RWRDS Daily Update – November 30, 2023

Rogers Mastercard is enhanced to offer up to 3% cash back now!

Bucking the trend of credit cards and loyalty programs in general with ongoing devaluations, Rogers is going the other direction with their Rogers Mastercard. As of December 6 Rogers, Fido and Shaw postpaid customers can earn 2% cash back on all eligible purchases and get a 1.5x redemption bonus on Rogers, Fido and Shaw purchases – that’s a 3% cash back value. Currently the card earns a 30% (1.3x) redempton bonus for Rogers, Fido and Shaw purchases so as you can see that is being increased! Awesome news for those who have or will get the card! American Express no longer coding select Walmart Supercentre locations as 5x points

Based on messages sent to us and a discussion on RFD it appears that American Express and/or Walmart have updated the merchant code for the few locations in Western Canada that were earning 5x points on the Cobalt Card. We know for sure the locations in New Westminster and Surrey BC as well as the one Saskatoon location that were 5x points switched to 1x points over the past week or so. So far we have no data on the two Alberta locations that were coding as 5x but we’d have to assume those have been corrected as well but will report back once we have a definitive answer. Continuing on with multipliers here are the latest update to our Cobalt multipliers list courtesy of Calvin, Chetan,, Volodymyr and anonymous. As well Joseph let us know that Natura Market no longer codes as 5x points but 1x points so we have updated that merchant as well.
