An update on new IHG Hotels opening in Canada for 2023
We completed an update to our IHG Hotels & Resorts New Hotel Openings in Canada for 2023 post. The following hotel opening dates and booking links have been updated:
- Staybridge Suites Dawson Creek
New slated opening date: May 30, 2023 (Originally set as March 1)
- Holiday Inn Express & Suites – Toronto Airport South
This hotel is now open! And if you are an Avgeek you’ll want to book a runway view room!
- Holiday Inn Express Strathroy
New slated opening date: June 24, 2023 (Originally set as June 3)
- Holiday Inn Express & Suites Courtenay – Comox
Opening date has now been announced as June 9, 2023
The remaining six hotels have not had any updates to their slated openings. Over the next few weeks we’ll also provide updates on the openings for the other major hotel chains.

Scotiabank American Express Concierge Services
Finally getting around to this news that @joshnet has been sending my way! It looks like Scotiabank has a new(?) concierge supplier for their Amex cards. Josh holds the Scotiabank Gold American Express and has recently be receiving lots of communication from Scotia promoting the Concierge Service provided by Ten.
Like most credit card concierge services this one provides recommendations and booking services for dining, travel and special occasions. Of particular note are the benefits of booking Accor Hotels (Fairmont stays) via Ten which are similar to Amex’s Fine Hotels & Resorts and Visa Infinite’s Luxury Hotel offerings:
