You can now earn American AAdvantage Miles on Ticketmaster purchases
American Airlines has launched a new partnership with Ticketmaster where you can now earn AAdvantage Miles for purchasing event tickets in the U.S. and Canada. The platform called AAdvantge Events awards 1 AAdvantage Mile (which also means 1 loyalty point) for every US$1 spent on tickets. This appears to be the exact same platform that Air France KLM uses for their Flying Blue Events which launched several months ago. Both platforms price the same as the regular Ticketmaster site so if you are purchasing event tickets you really should purchase them via one of these airline portals!
Here’s an example of two tickets for Boogie Wit Da Hoodie in Calgary:

Even though American AAdvantage may award a few more miles I feel the Flying Blue option is better suited for many Canadians, or at least many of our readers. Flying Blue is definitely more popular than American’s AAdvantage program here in Canada given Air France KLM’s flights to many major Canadian cities, offering a Canadian credit card and providing better redemption values such as the 15,000 mile economy class awards to Europe. Personally I know I’ll be funneling non Amex Front of the Line Ticketmaster purchases via the AF KLM portal!
