Lounge Review: Le Saigonnais International Lounge – Ho Chi Minh Tan Son Nhat International Airport (Terminal 2)

After a short stay in Ho Chi Minh City, en route to Tokyo, I had layovers in Singapore and South Korea as I wanted to experience different airlines and enjoy the various airport lounges. For this portion of my trip I tried out the Le Saigonnais International Lounge at Ho Chi Minh’s Tan Son Nhat International Airport. This is the lounge Singapore Airlines utilizes for their flights out of Ho Chi Minh.

Le Saigonnais Lounge is located on the third floor in the international terminal, just a short distance from the food court and Sense Viet spa at Tan Son Nhat Airport. Upon entering, you’ll find that the lounge is relatively small but has a nice modern feel to it. During my visit it was almost at total capacity due to the limited availability of  seats.

On the right side of the entrance is the washroom, followed by the food area and there are various seating arrangements throughout the lounge. The seating in the lounge was very comfortable and well-kept. A beautiful panoramic window also offered a view of the planes at the gates. In the far back corner of the lounge was a quiet area with a table along the window.

I found the lounge to be quite cramped due to the large number of people present. Moving around the lounge is a challenge because of the seating arrangements as they are quite close together. I also found the temperature of the lounge to be a bit warm for me (perhaps due to all the people!)

For my visit thery were around eight hot food dishes available, most of which were Vietnamese cuisine. To be honest, the food did not look appetizing at all. The dishes they had were sticky rice, tofu, egg meat, and a few other choices. There were also a selection of fruits, small desserts, ham, and bread available.

Beverage wise the lounge was well-stocked, with various drinks ranging from juice, pop, liquor and beer.

Overall, it’s a good lounge to spend some time in, however, if you are looking for good food, you should opt for a food credit at the food court (if provided by the airline you are flying on) instead of lounge access.
