The discount is tiered and maxes out at 30%. If you buy points with the 30% you are buying them at 2.45 cents each. That’s a pretty high price to be buying the points at considering the last bonus had them as low as 1.63 cents each. Ultimately this buy/gift points discount only makes sense to take advantage of if you need points right away to top off for an award or find an award flight which comes in with greater value than 2.45 cents per points.
