Priority Pass increasing lounge visit fee to US$35 for credit card issued memberships

Priority Pass is emailing members to advise of a price increase in their lounge visit fees. As of October 1, 2023 the per visit fee will increase to US$35 from the current US$32. This follows and matches the fee for non-credit card issued Priority Pass memberships that was already increased to US$35 per visit earlier this year.

Just like every other product and service these days the lounge access membership program cites “pressure from rising costs globally” as the reason behind the price increase. It sure does seem like nothing is immune from the continuing price increases we are seeing in everyday life.

Granted, if  I recall correctly this year’s increases from Priority Pass are the first in at least 4-5 years. I know lounge visits were still US$27 a piece back in 2018 but will have to search further to find out exactly when the price was increased to US$32.

There are only a few credit cards in Canada that still issue Priority Pass memberships that will be affected by this change:

I decided to check DragonPass and those who receive it via their credit cards, that is Mastercard TravelPass by DragonPass and Visa Airport Companion will still only pay US$32 per visit for the time being.

However, if you purchase a DragonPass membership on its own I did see that they have also increased the per visit fee to US$35 from US$31:

Wrapping it up

Priority Pass has announced an increase to the per lounge visit fee for their credit card issued memberships from US$32 to US$35. The increase takes place as of October 1, 2023. DragonPass memberships that are not issued as part of a credit card benefit package have also seen their per visit fee increased to US$35 from US$31. Currently, DragonPass memberships that do come from a credit card remain unaffected but I wouldn’t be surprised to see them follow suit given the increase in the general memberships.
