Earn 20,000 bonus PC Optimum points at Shoppers Drug Mart this weekend

PC Optimum members can earn 20,000 bonus points for spending $90 or more in store at Shoppers Drug Mart until May 5. This offer is must be loaded via the PC Optimum app or your online account.

Now, I do want to heed a word of advice with Shoppers and their PC Optimum bonuses. I find Shoppers Drug Mart to be stupidly expensive on most of what they sell. I was just in one yesterday as I needed to grab two items – both were $12.99 – seemed expensive to me so I went to Safeway next door and both items were only $9.99 each (neither store had the items on sale) and chances are something like Walmart would be even cheaper but that was a 15 minute drive away. Still I was happy to spend $6 less.

So don’t go out to shopping for daily good at Shoppers just to get this bonus. If the items are on sale, then perhaps it can be a good deal or if it as an item they have to be price competitive on such as electronics and video games but other than that in all likelihood these bonus points may not even cover the extra you’d be spending for shopping at Shoppers Drug Mart.

Personally I received these offers on The Platinum Card from American Express but you may receive them on a different card. The Parachute offer is also available to holders of Scotiabank American Express Cards who simply need to register for the offer here.

No Miles & More Mileage Bargains from Canada this month

In case you were wondering, this month’s Mileage Bargains from Miles & More (Lufthansa, Austrian, SWISS et al) have been released however there are no Canadian cities on offer.
