Here’s your RWRDS Canada update! Your near daily dose of loyalty program, credit card and travel news, bonuses, deals and more.

Priority Pass lounge entries no longer in earn points in the Smart Traveller program

Long time Rewards Canada reader Aselwyn1 alerted us to change in Plaza Premium’s Smart Traveller program. When they tried to earn points in Plaza Premium’s Smart Traveller program with their Priority Pass at YYZ they wouldn’t scan the QR code and said it was against the terms. We checked this out and sure enough the Smart Traveller program has been updated to not include Priority Pass entries:

100 Arrture Points for entry via airline invitations, corporate vouchers, credit card entitlements and selected lounge aggregators (excluding Priority Pass)

As Plaza Premium and DragonPass having a tighter relationship there is no exclusion from DragonPass members earning points when they enter the lounges. DragonPass is the major lounge access program in Canada that is offered via credit cards so most of you who do receive access via your cards won’t be affected by this change.

We have updated our Loyalty Lesson: Earn points on your airport lounge visits – even if they’re free from your credit card to reflect this change
