As part of Air Canada’s broad lounge opening and refurbishment initiatives the next two lounges up for renovation are the domestic Maple Leaf Lounge in Montreal and the domestic lounge in Halifax. The good news is Air Canada travellers in Montreal do have alternatives but such is not the case in Halifax and the latter is also the longer lasting renovation!
Montreal Domestic Maple Leaf Lounge
This lounge is now closed for renovations which are slated to only take three months or so. That’s not bad! Luckily for eligible travellers in Montreal, Air Canada did recently open their Air Canada Cafe that can be utilized. For those looking for even more of full fledged lounge experience, Air Canada has partnered with the new Aspire American Express Lounge whereby 50K, 75K and Super Elite status members will be granted access.
In the news I didn’t see any information for those without status who are travelling on a business class fare. They should definitely get access to the Air Canada Cafe but I am not sure about the Aspire lounge. If you happen to be one of those travellers let us know what access they are giving to domestic business class travellers!
Halifax Domestic Maple Leaf Lounge
This lounge will be closing on October 1st with a slated reopening sometime in early 2027. There are no alternative options at YHZ so for the next year and half or so, Air Canada travellers will have to do without a lounge in Halifax.
New Air Canada Cafes coming to Vancouver and Montreal
On the new openings side Air Canada confirmed two Air Canada Cafes for Vancouver International Airport with one opening in the domestic terminal this fall and one in the transborder terminal early in 2026.
These new cafes will be joined by one more Air Canada Cafe at Montreal Trudeau International which is set to open in Transborder side early in 2026
