After a short time exploring Singapore, I made my way to Singapore Changi airport for my flight at noon to Da Nang. Arriving a few hours early, I took advantage of the opportunity to discover several airport lounges. My flight was departing from Terminal 2, this is a smaller terminal at SIN that primarily caters to flights bound for regional destinations.
I tried out two of the lounges, the KrisFlyer Gold Lounge and the SilverKris Lounge, both conveniently located within walking distance of each other. To get to the lounge you turn left right after passing through immigration and then proceed toward the E gates, where signage indicates the lounge’s location. Note that at the time I passed through the area on the way to the lounge was being renovated.

The entrance to KrisFlyer Gold Lounge beckoned to the left as I ascended the escalator. Access to this area is for KrisFlyer Elite and Star Alliance Gold members. As a traveler in business class with Singapore Airlines, I was fortunate enough to enjoy this lounge’s offerings. A modest entrance greeted me, attended by a single staff member.
The lounge was moderately sized with the standard rectangle-shaped open layout, with rows of individual chairs scattered with tables and lamps. Food and beverages were stationed along the left wall. Mounted at both ends were generous-sized TVs broadcasting sports content. The lounge was pleasantly uncrowded on this late Monday morning, providing ample seating options. There were two workstations at the back of the lounge. Located at the rear of the lounge were a pair of workstations. Privacy was limited within this lounge. It’s worth mentioning that restroom facilities were not observed within the lounge premises; visitors would need to utilize the public restrooms close to the lounge area.
In terms of food, the KrisFlyer Gold Lounge had an exceptional offering. Unlike many lounges with their customary selection of 3-6 hot dishes, this one went above and beyond. The array encompassed Dim Sum staples like Siu Mai and Har Gow alongside Steamed Buns, Fried Rice, Chow Mein, and a delightful “Make Your Own” Laksa Soup station. Korean BBQ chicken and other tempting options were also on hand. The chicken wings delivered a burst of flavour that left a lasting impression. The beverage choices were equally comprehensive, featuring various non-alcoholic and alcoholic options for self-service.
Wrapping it up
Overall, my visit to KrisFlyer Gold Lounge was a highly satisfying one. It catered admirably to business and leisure travelers, offering a delectable assortment of Food and beverages and comfortable seating. My following review will delve into a comparison with the SilverKris Lounge located within Terminal 2.
