The 70,000 point bonus:
The bonus of 70,000 points is awarded as follows:
- Earn 50,000 bonus Scene+ points by making at least $3,000 in everyday eligible purchases in your first 3 months.
- Plus, for a limited time, you are eligible to earn a 20,000 Scene+ point bonus when you spend at least $10,000 in everyday eligible purchases in your first 14 months
To receive this bonus you must apply for the card by January 31, 2023. The 70,000 points are worth $700 towards travel, groceries, dining or movies.
Card overview
The Scotiabank Platinum American Express awards 2 points per dollar on all eligible spending on the card which translates to a 2% return when redeemed for travel, groceries, dining and movies.
On top of the points the card also offers No Foreign Transactions which saves the cardholder 2.5% on average on any purchases made in currencies outside of the Canadian dollar.
Finally, the card provides free Priority Pass membership along with 10 free lounge visits annually for the primary cardholder and 4 more for a supplementary cardholder.
