It is official now, Emirates announced today the launch of direct non-stop flights between Montreal and Dubai. The UAE will begin flying the route on a daily basis as of July 5, 2023. This is Emirates second route of Canada after Toronto which was just recently increased to daily service and marks the last of the expected new routes and increases that have come about from the recently expanded air services agreement between Canada and the UAE.
The new Montreal to Dubai flight
The new Montreal route will be operated with a three class Boeing 777-300ER with departures from YUL at 10:20am (9.30 during the winter season) arriving into DXB 06:30am the next day (6:40 during winter). The return flights departs from Dubai at 2:30am with arrival into Montreal at 8:00am (7:15 during winter).
Tickets for this route went on sale as of today and can be booked via emirates.com.
Emirates is a full partner of Air Canada’s Aeroplan which means members can earn and redeem points for these flights. Aeroplan has separate reward flight pricing for Emirates than their other partners. Those redemption rates are as follows:
Distance (miles) | Economy | Business | First |
Up to 2,000 | 15,000 to 35,000 pts | 30,000 to 77,500 pts | 65,000 to 175,000 pts |
2,001-5,000 | 21,000 to 65,000 pts | 45,000 to 14,000 pts | 110,000 to 325,000 pts |
5,001-9,000 | 40,000 to 85,000 pts | 80,000 to 185,000 pts | 225,000 to 475,000 pts |
9,001-12,000 | 60,000 to 110,000 pts | 120,000 to 225,000 pts | 300,000 to 600,000 pts |
12,001+ | 85,000 to 150,000 pts | 180,000 to 300,000 pts | 400,000 to 750,000 pts |
The Montreal to Dubai flight falls into the 5,001 – 9,000 mile range however when posting this article (April 24) it appears this new route was not available for Aeroplan redemptions just yet as we couldn’t pull any results. I would assume they should show up in no time soon however.
