A reminder that as part of their Mileage Plan program, Alaska Airlines has had a long running elite status match and fast track offer which continues to be offered as part of their new Atmos Rewards program. The offer includes matches from Air Canada Aeroplan, so if you are an Air Canada elite member impressed by the new Atmos Rewards and are considering a switch of allegiances or want to have elite status with another airline alliance under your belt, you may want to consider this offer.

The airlines you can status match to in Atmos Rewards
The status match allows elite tier members of seven airlines to receive an Atmos Rewards status match for 90 days and then a fast track qualification requirement to receive full fledged status.
From the chart above you can see that Air Canada 25K and 35K elite members can match to Atmos Silver, 50K to Gold while 75K and 100K Super Elites can match to Platinum.
Alaska does need to update the above chart however as it’s been quite a few years since Air Canada called their elite program Altitude!
The fast track to retaining Atmos Rewards status
To keep the status you have received from Atmos Rewards you must then earn status points on Alaska and Hawaiian flights within 90 days of approval of your match. Thus, you’ll want to time your application for the status match to meet any travel plans you have with Alaska or Hawaiian.
These are the requirements to have your status match extended beyond the first 90 days:
- To keep Atmos Silver: 5,000 base points earned on Alaska and Hawaiian flights
- To keep Atmos Gold: 10,000 base points earned on Alaska and Hawaiian flights
- To keep Atmos Platinum: 20,000 base points earned on Alaska and Hawaiian flights
Right now can be an ideal time to complete the fast track to retaining your Atmos Rewards matched status as any one who status matches between July and December and then meets the above flight requirements gets to keep the status through the end of the next calendar year. Should you match and complete the challenge between January and June, the status is only valid for the remainder of the year.
