WestJet places its largest-ever aircraft order with Boeing for new 737-10 MAX aircraft and additional 787 Dreamliners
Big news from WestJet today as they have placed their largest ever order for new planes from Boeing. The Calgary based airline announced an agreement with Boeing for the purchase of 60 737-10 MAX narrowbody aircraft, with options for an additional 25. The order also includes seven 787-9 Dreamliner widebody aircraft with options for four more. Deliveries of the aircraft will take place over the next 8+ years until 2034.
I’m most excited to have WestJet recommit to widebody Dreamliners so they can build on their international route network. The airline had cancelled the remainder of their first 787 order just a few years ago.
With the airline adding more airline partners every few months (Copa was announced last week) the airline will need these new planes to grow its global network and worldwide connectivity. And it will also modernize their fleet as I’m sure we’ll see many of the 737-700 and 800s leave the airline as the new 737-10 MAX planes come online.

Aspire American Express Lounge Grand Opening Event in YUL
This is will be it for updates on the Rewards Canada site for today as I am in Montreal to attend the grand opening event of the Amex Aspire Lounge at Montreal-Trudeau Airport. If you are attending come say hi and get some Rewards Canada stickers!
