The Moxy Montreal Downtown is now open
The Moxy Montreal Downtown is now open! This is the third Moxy Hotel to open in Canada after Halifax and Banff and also marks Marriott’s 300th hotel in Canada.

The hotel has 216 rooms and the 12th floor of the hotel features much of the property’s amenities from an outdoor terrace to fitness centre, indoor pool and hot tub.
For dining the Moxy Montreal Downtown will offer the Moxy Bar and Restaurant is where guests can enjoy signature cocktails, local beers and savor delicious dishes. The restaurant also has access to the outdoor terrace on the 12th floor.

This is another hotel where the value of Marriott Bonvoy points can go a long way! Turns out the CIBC Adapta Mastercard is not the first automatically adaptive rewards card in Canada
Last week we covered the release of the new CIBC Adapta Mastercard which was touted by CIBC as the first of its kind in Canada. Going on that release we did say the new card which offers automatically adapting top three spend categories was an innovative new feature but it turns out they are not the first in Canada to offer something like this.
As pointed out by Kiraly on RFD, Affinity Credit Union also offers a similar feature where they will award bonus points on your highest category of spend for the month. Now, Affinity only offers it on one category versus CIBC Adapta’s three and Affinity also only awards it on 20% of that highest spend versus unlimited on the CIBC card. But in the end the concept is the same in that it automatically adapts your earn rate on a monthly basis without the cardholder having to worry about selecting a card or spend category beforehand.
